What is Meant to Be Will Always Find its Way

June 10, 2026 By Alison Laverty

Are we born with a blank slate or does everything happen for a reason. I believe, the moment we are born, we are set to walk a path leading to our destiny. But to find our place in the world, we must go through the challenges of embracing life to the fullest.

Things will happen, when you are ready to accept change. The earth will shake open to expose a secret and only you will know when to take action and move. But if you can’t be still and listen, how are you going to trust yourself?

Can you feel a deep pull in your gut? It’s sending a message. Telling you where to go next. Be ready, because the experience will break and change you to become the person you are meant to be. Do you trust your choices?

In this post, let’s look at what fate and destiny has prepared for you, when you learn to trust your choices. Are you ready to be still and listen?

Everything Happens for a Reason

What is meant to be will always find its way to you. And what you are experiencing now affects a future outcome. Which is why they say everything happens for a reason. Imagine with me for a second, everyday we follow a routine—to work, then home, or even serve our community. Half the time we do what has to be done or what we are told to do. Seldom do we ask questions, to understand what exactly is going on here. When do we attend to our own needs?

Have you ever been afraid to go a step further? To figure out what you actually want to do with your life. Are you afraid to discover who you are within the chaos around you? Why is this happening?

We have been conditioned by the environment to follow what everyone else is doing or you’ll fall backwards and fail.

When you experience chaos, the universe is revealing a change taking place which you need to know about. I’ve experienced déjà vu moments many times. You see, I was born into a dysfunctional family system, constantly witnessing violence in my home. To a point where I realize something had to change or my life would be at risk. Within the chaos, I experienced a change taking place.

Home is Not Where The Heart Is

My turbulent home environment was a major signal of changes taking place. The circumstances in my life could either turn devastatingly tragic or I’ll be struggling throughout my whole life until the day I die. What an outcome, don’t you think? I knew sooner or later I would have to make a choice moving forward.

And if you are willing to take a chance and be open to embrace this change, your life will change in an instant. But are you willing to let go of what you know and jump into the unknown? Or are you only following what you’ve been conditioned to do.

You Are Meant to Be You

When we were young, our parents guided us. Enrolled us in a system that taught children to follow a path laid out for their future. And we faithfully followed it hoping to achieve success.

How do you see failures? Does it define you?

Me, I failed big time in school, caused an uproar amongst relatives who thought I wasn’t smart.

The one crucial skill that guided me forward—is thinking for myself. When I walked away from conformity, I was led to where I was meant to be in the first place. Why? Because what is meant to be will always find its way to you. As long as you are willing to listen.

Meant to Be is a memoir written by Alison Laverty. Watch this Book Trailer Video.

That strong pull inside you, that yearning to do more with your life is your heart’s desire. Can you feel it? Your inner guide is begging you to listen and learn.

When life is good to you, everything stays constant and nothing changes. But you don’t grow. When unfortunate events like meaningless accidents or abuse happens to us, we fall apart. Would you consider that bad luck? My relatives say I was fated to suffer a cursed life like my mother and follow the path of my abuser. The unfortunate incidents in my life changed the way I chose to live. What if these devastating events reveal a different path ahead for us?

Is destiny knocking at your door? Perhaps it’s a signal for you to make a move.

There are no Coincidences in Life

Have you ever noticed concurrent events happening around you? Cues orchestrating a natural flow of change. You know, where a string of events occurs in a domino effect. These are signs with a clue, showing you where to go.

Perhaps, you were thinking of someone, whom you’ve not seen for a long time, then out of the blue, you receive a call from them. Pay careful attention to these occurrences because the universe is revealing a change of frequency, happening within your environment.

There are no coincidences in life because everything happens for a reason especially the ones that grabs your attention.

Four Years Old
Twelve Years Old

From the age of four, I witnessed rage and violent acts of abuse in my home. And it broke my heart.

Was I meant to suffer a fate of constant misery?

I struggled to survive, doubting everything I did. But slowly as I focused on finding solutions, I noticed the cues and signs revealed a way out, leading me onto a different path. And I believed that there was more to my life, a bigger picture that I couldn’t see before now, appearing to be real. At the age of seventeen, I was thrown into the murky waters of adulthood. But being on my own lead me to an adventure where destiny called me.

Of Fate and Destiny

Fatum is a Latin word for fate meaning “what has been spoken.”

There is an old ancient saying that our fate is never in our own hands, whatever happens to us has been written according to divine law or that a higher power controls what is meant to happen in our life. My mom believes in this with all her heart and soul.

As a child, I was encouraged to be accountable to the life I got given, “You must know yourself. And why you exists!” Because it leads us to our destiny.

If fate or destiny are really in the hands of the divine, how do we know what we are meant to be doing?

My mom taught me that you have everything you need inside you to survive. But you must search your soul to find it. I believe whatever you are looking for in life is within your reach, waiting for you to take that first step into discovery.

The unfortunate circumstances in my life were all planned out, even before I was ever born. My destiny had already been written and spoken for.

Accepting every unfortunate experience led me to a different path and I learned to: Trust this process! I never gave up believing in myself. How did I do this?

Be Still and Listen…

For years I clung onto a belief that the violence at home was not a meaningless act against me but rather a sign, awakening me to see a bigger vision of a plan I couldn’t see back then. For a long time I roamed this world thinking I was alone and followed my gut. How did I know this?

Your soul knows the way. Find the courage to keep going, take leaps of faith and jumped into the unknown. Fear is not a disease latching on to you, it is your gut instinct, keeping us safe. What we feel is the consequences being revealed to us if we don’t listen to it. Know the difference!

When we were born, we all received special gifts and talents. One of them is our breath of life. It remains with us throughout our time here on earth until we die. When you seek solitude away from the noise around us, you connect to its frequency and slowly become aware of its power dwelling within you. Be still and listen, in those quiet moments of solitude, you will hear your destiny calling you. LISTEN!
