The Future is now ..
Have you been fighting zombies recently?
Imagine with me for a second—an outbreak occurs in our time. The number of people infected are increasing and spreading rapidly, causing mass panic and hysteria in every corner of the world.
You walk into a store or supermarket, dive into a sea of paranoia where people start hoarding food, medicine and essentials items. Scrambling to keep their stocks in supply to survive because fear has been injected into their system to make them think the outbreak will make them vanish off the face of the earth.
You don’t know who these people are yet the choices they make directly affects you. What can you do to stay sane?
Fighting Zombies Everywhere ..
I must admit, these past few weeks all across the world, felt like we were fighting zombies in a real life apocalyptic movie, seeping into our reality. What happens next is yet to be seen. But how do you survive this change?
It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent that survives. It is the one that is the most adaptable to change.
Charles Darwin
There is no doubt in my mind, that the choices we make, to adjust to this new situation, involves the skill of adaptability. The world we live in is constantly changing irregardless to our experience of good times or uncertainty and we must learn to adapt to this new change.
I love watching people fighting zombies, in movies. It has taught me a lot about accepting changes in our surroundings, how to survive is crisis and using our instinct to move forward. I also get a glimpse of the true colors of humanity and how extremely disconnected we have become. As you continue to embark on your journey, who would you consider a walking zombie in our time?
Dictionary
—a person who appears lifeless, apathetic or completely unresponsive to their surroundings
When our ordinary world changes its course to challenge our safety and security, we often assume the worst is yet to come. Every thing we do to experience this reality is motivated by that one thing alone. And we get lost in the future by reacting to what we feel in this present moment. Fear takes a hold and leads our actions.
“The monsters that rose from the dead, they are nothing compared to the ones we carry in our hearts.”
Max Brooks ~ World War Z
Get Ready to Fight the Unconscious Zombies
As you can see, I love watching zombie apocalypse movies. Among my favorite is World War Z, you know the one with Brad Pitt. In the movie, people are infected by a rabies bite and when bitten instantly within ten seconds turns to zombies.
Fighting zombies in the new age is not easy. They are faster and have an amazing sense of sound, reacting to even the slightest coin drop. Bear with me on this point I’m making. Our senses is a crucial key we own. It is our inner guide to develop and use as your instincts. A must for survival!
The dead don't look for the dead. They seek the living by sensing those who are alive. ~ Alison Laverty
In the movie, a scientist is sent to figure out what exactly caused the outbreak, in the hope to find a vaccine .. to cure and save lives. But the zombies are quick to react to their sense of sound, running a marathon and surrounding the rescue team as they make their way to ground zero. When panic settles in, the scientist tries to escape these zombies. He causes his own death by slipping and falling to hit his head on a metal object and dies instantly.
However before this unfortunate incident occurs, while in the plane, the scientist tells Brad Pitt to look in the grey areas, where people don’t normally look, within the chaos. The solution will show itself because mother nature shows up in the natural world. She spread clues, she wants you to find. Those who take time to see through her veil, discover it. But those crumbs appear only within the chaos. Are you brave enough to see through this chaos?
Reality in our World
What hooked me into these interesting stories in the world of fighting zombies?
I find the people who wrote these stories, are extremely creative and innovative with amazing forward thinking ideas. Can we not use this creativity in our world to figure out how we can solve problems to move forward?
You might tell me that not everyone is creative .. right? But is creativity something we are born with or perhaps we can learn to develop this talent further?
When we expose ourselves to natural experiences, we develop our instincts as life skills. Learn what motivates the human behavior during difficult times .. learn to think for yourself and not follow the crowd. They say practice makes perfect right?
I see us human beings as having enormous potential to move above and beyond our call of duty. It is the same reason why writers write and read often, to expose themselves to ideas and explore their inner world of imagination.
What if here and now is an opportunity presented to you? The only way you can make the best with it, is to imagine a future where all that we are experiencing now will pass.
What would you do to adapt to this new change and how will you use this opportunity to create a better future?
