Alison Laverty is a Video Creator with a love for writing poetry. Currently revising and editing her debut memoir, Meant to Be. A story about how she escaped a dysfunctional family system of repeated abuse to create a life on her terms.
As a teen, she aspired to be a rock singer, like Belinda Carlisle of The Go-Go’s. Close friends describes Alison as quirky and someone with a remarkable memory for songs and lyrics especially music from the 80s.
A lover of movies—futuristic, action, thrillers and zombie apocalypse are among her favorites. In her free time, she loves bush walking with her family in the rain-forests, sewing, cooking and takes care of her elderly Mother.
Her essay Imagination and the Curious Mind was awarded Honorable Mention in the Memoirs/Personal Essay category of the 90th Annual Writer’s Digest Writing Competition 2021.
